जब आप कुछ महीने पलटा अलंकार का रियाज करके राज सीखना शुरू करेंगे तब राग सीखते सीखते आपको सुर की समझ होने लगेगी। कुछ सालों तक सीखने के बाद आप राग की हर बंदिश को सही तरह से समझने लगेंगे और गाने लगेंगे। कुछ सालों सीखने के बाद हर बंदिश को आप विस्तार कर पाएंगे और अच्छे तरीके से गा पाएंगे। तब जाकर आप की सुनने की क्षमता भी बढ़ेगी। इसके बाद कोई भी गीत सुनकर आप उसका नोटेशन आसानी से निकालने लगेंगे।
कोई भी गाने का नोटेशन निकालने के लिए आपको सही सुनना सीखना होगा, और सही सुनने के लिए आप को सही ढंग से संगीत सीखना होगा, और सही संगीत सीखने के लिए आपको शास्त्रीय संगीत किसी अच्छे गुरु के पास कुछ सालों सीखना होगा।
