The Chhota Khyal is also called a Drut Bandish. Rhythm of Chhota khayal is faster than Bilambit. It is of mediocre or quick rhythm. To understand the Bada Khyal and Chhota Khyal you start listening to it, then it will be very easy to understand both.

सबसे पहला अंतर

बड़ा ख्याल और छोटा ख्याल में सबसे पहला अंतर है लय का। बड़ा ख्याल का लय बहुत धीमा होता है। ज्यादातर एकताल पर बड़ा ख्याल गया जाता है। एकताल के हर मात्रा को चार भागों में विभाजित करके धीमा लय किया गया है जिसे विलंबित कहते हैं। इसी विलंबित लय पर ख्याल गायकी शुरू होती है।

ख्याल गायकी

ख्याल गायकी में सबसे पहले आलाप गाने के बाद बंदिश की स्थाई शुरू की जाती है। फिर स्थाई के शब्द को लेकर विस्तार किया जाता है। बड़ा ख्याल में सबसे महत्वपूर्ण है विस्तार करना। राग के चलन के अनुसार विस्तार करना बड़ा ख्याल की खासियत है। विस्तार के बाद लय थोड़ा बढ़ाते हैं और सरगम, तान, गमक करके समाप्त किया जाता है।

छोटा ख्याल को द्रुत बंदिश भी कहते हैं। द्रुत मतलब तेज गति का। छोटा ख्याल की गति विलंबित से तेज होती है। ये मध्यलय या द्रुत लय का होता है। छोटा ख्याल में गायक विस्तार करके तान गमक करके गायकी पूरा करते हैं। बड़ा ख्याल और छोटा ख्याल को समझने के लिए आप इसे सुनना शुरू कीजिए तब बहुत आसान हो जाएगा दोनों को समझना।
